Background: Early diagnosis and effective nursing management are critical in improving outcomes in pediatric surgical patients. Delayed recognition of surgical conditions such as acute appendicitis and congenital anomalies increases morbidity and healthcare burden. Objective: To evaluate the impact of early clinical assessment and multidisciplinary nursing care on postoperative outcomes in pediatric surgical patients. Methods: A retrospective observational study was conducted on pediatric patients admitted with acute abdominal conditions. Clinical assessment, laboratory investigations (including CRP and white blood cell count), and imaging findings were analyzed.
Nursing interventions included continuous monitoring, preoperative preparation, postoperative care, and family education. Results: Early diagnosis combined with structured nursing care resulted in reduced complication rates, shorter hospital stays, and improved patient recovery. Effective communication between nurses and surgical teams enhanced decision-making and patient safety. Conclusion: Multidisciplinary collaboration and proactive nursing care play a vital role in optimizing pediatric surgical outcomes. Strengthening nursing assessment skills and early intervention strategies can significantly improve quality of care and reduce complications.
