Kristina Wechsler, BSN, MS, RN, CG, is a PhD student at the Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation at Arizona State University. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a master's degree in Aging, and is a Certified Gerontologist. Her research focuses on age-related cognitive decline and the gut–brain axis, emphasizing modifiable lifestyle factors that support brain health and healthy aging. She recently led a pilot randomized controlled trial evaluating the feasibility, tolerability, and acceptability of a polyphenol-rich, multi-ingredient dietary supplement, with secondary outcomes examining cognitive performance and psychological well-being. Her work translates emerging science into nursing practice, highlighting evidence-based strategies nurses can use to promote cognitive health and address modifiable risk factors associated with age-related cognitive decline. At this conference, she presents "Feeding the Brain: Linking Gut–Brain Axis Theory to Nursing Logic," demonstrating how nurses can apply gut–brain axis theory to support healthier aging.
